Core Values
Guiding Principles
Our core values are not just words on a page, they’re the foundational building blocks that drive us forward and shape not just our actions but also the essence of who we are as individuals and as a collective force.
Learn More: Work Smart | Work Hard | Be Good | Community Core™
Work Smart.
Execute with resourcefulness, efficiency, innovation, and curiosity.
We go beyond just working hard; we excel by being resourceful, innovative, and efficient. Our strength lies in our collective intellect, driving creativity and problem-solving. As leaders, we pride ourselves on expertise and foster a culture of innovation to anticipate trends, develop solutions, and transform the industry. Efficiency is key to our growth, helping us overcome every challenge that comes our way.
Work Hard.
Embrace challenges with a relentless work ethic, a self-starting attitude, accountability, and commitment to achieving excellence.
Our commitment knows no bounds. We’re driven by a relentless work ethic, self-starting attitude, and a shared determination to excel. It’s our grit and passion that push us to meet and exceed our goals. We face challenges head-on, take ownership, and ensure clear communication and meticulous planning at every step.
Be Good.
Embody integrity, reliability, and respect, fostering a collaborative environment to help and inspire others in our collective journey to success.
Integrity is everything. We operate with honesty, transparency, and authenticity, caring deeply about our work and the impact we make. We foster a collaborative environment, uplifting and inspiring each other to achieve more. Our success is built on trust, mutual respect, and strong relationships with our team and our partners.
Core Values
Community Core™
AT THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN & MAIN
The Community Core™ should be located at the epicenter of the local community and have immediate access to major regional connectors, such as light rail and freeways. This strategic placement allows the Community Core™ to define the heart and identity of the local community while serving as the central hub for the surrounding region. As this hub, the Community Core™ connects various assets—both natural and cultural—that might otherwise remain separate. This connectivity maximizes efficiencies, strengthens synergies, and fully realizes the potential of regionalization.
Our Westlake, Ohio property, Crocker Park, exemplifies this perfectly. Built over 20 city blocks and located right off major highway exits, Crocker Park is the core to the West side, inviting all traveling from near and far a communal space to create memories and experiences together.
COMMUNITY BEFORE COMMERCE
The Community Core’s mission is not merely physical or commercial but, most importantly, cultural. Its agendas are quality of life in the 21st century and how to be competitive in the global economy. Both agendas are dependent upon a walkable lifestyle that delivers mixed use density interwoven with health and wellness, higher education/research, and the arts. Such rarified environments will attract and keep the best and the brightest, which enables a community to be globally competitive. This principle applies to and is necessary for urban centers, inner ring suburbs, bedroom community exurbs, and major university campus neighborhoods to position themselves in the global community. Interestingly, the most desirable lifestyle of every era seems to derive from a place of gathering characterized by an eclectic mix of commercial, social, scientific, and artistic offerings. In ancient times, the core was found at the city gate where trade routes provided these things. The often-employed central piazza flanked by the palace, the parliament, the great museum, the opera house, the academy, and the cathedral served as the Community Core™ for centuries.
Our student housing project on the campus of University of Texas Arlington, Liv+ and soon to be on the campus of University of Florida Gainesville, exemplifies the meaning behind our mission. Starting right in a prestigious university where young adults are learning and thriving, we developed a community living space to feed those sparks and inspiration. Creating a residential space that allows students to both balance their work with their free time allows for one to truly thrive.
